Fresh, local produce is coming your way starting Sept. 15, with the launch of the Mobile Miracle Market.
The Mobile Market will start handing out fresh, local produce boxes in Wheatley and Merlin on Tuesdays, and in Thamesville, Bothwell, and Highgate on Wednesdays.
Over the coming weeks, the Mobile Market will begin to expand to cover Ridgetown, Blenheim, Dresden, Wallaceburg, Pain Court, Tilbury, and Chatham. Plans are also in the works to reach Shrewsbury, North Buxton, and other communities across Chatham-Kent.
All produce boxes are free. To keep the Mobile Market growing, the organizers have introduced a “get a box, give a box” campaign. As you pick up your produce box, you have the option to pay it forward by donating and helping another person get a produce box.
With the launch date approaching, the Mobile Market team is still looking for volunteers. You can visit their website www.mobilemiraclemarket.com or Facebook page to learn more about the project, sign up to be a volunteer, and stay in touch.
The Mobile Market is a project of the CK Prosperity Roundtable in partnership with TekSavvy, CK Public Health, Family Service Kent, Wheatley Area Food Bank, and volunteers from the Miracle Project team.
