DNA helps solve B&E
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a break and enter in Chatham earlier this year.
On Jan. 5, police responded to a break and enter to a business on Richmond St in Chatham. The scene was examined and evidence was seized for forensic analysis.
In March, police received information from the Centre of Forensic Sciences stating that a DNA profile was generated and matched that of a local man.
Last night the police located the man on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Tyler McIntee, 35, of Chatham, is charged with Break and Enter.
Probation breach leads to weapons charges
Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a suspicious person call on King Street East in Chatham. Further investigation resulted in an adult female being arrested for breaching a condition of her Probation Order.
Katie Holmes, a 27-year-old Chatham woman. was arrested and charged with two counts of Breach of Probation Order. Upon being searched incident to arrest, police say she was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon – a switchblade.
She was additionally charged with that offence.
Wandering into traffic
Yesterday afternoon police responded to a suspicious person complaint on Queen Street in Chatham.
Police say the male party was jumping in and out of traffic.
Upon further investigation it was determined that the male had recently consumed drugs and was unable to care for himself.
He was arrested for Breach of the Peace and taken to police headquarters and was released when he sobered up.
Stolen vehicle
Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a stolen vehicle in Wallaceburg.
Sometime between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on July 16, someone stole a 2019 Chevrolet Cruz, four-door, from an address on Wills Street in Wallaceburg. The vehicle is blue in colour and was last seen with Ontario licence plates CKHD 569.
The value of the vehicle is estimated at approximately $19,000.

Warrant arrests
Yesterday morning, police located and arrested a woman in Wallaceburg who was wanted for Domestic related offences.
Shelby Benn, 25, of Wallaceburg, was arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, and Uttering Threats.

Yesterday afternoon, police located a man in Ridgetown who was wanted for breaching conditions of his Release Order.
A 30-year-old Ridgetown male was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Probation breach
Last evening, officers learned that a male youth was breaching his Probation Order.
The youth was located in Chatham and arrested.
The youth was subsequently charged with three counts of Breach of Probation and later released with a future court date.
