Supplying alcohol to make sanitizer isn’t the only commitment by Greenfield Global to offer support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) Foundation has received $10,000 as part of a commitment by Greenfield Global to help local communities impacted by COVID-19.

The company’s newly established Greenfield Cares Fund will be directing 41 grants totaling $400,000 to local charities in 11 communities where Greenfield Global employees live and work.

“These are incredibly challenging times, and we are committed to supporting local organizations that are helping those being hardest hit by COVID-19,” Veselin Nikolov, plant manager at Greenfield’s Chatham facility, said in a media release. “Through the Greenfield Cares Fund, we are pleased to be supporting the phenomenal work being done by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, and are thankful for their positive impact in the community where we proudly live and work.”

Since the start of the global pandemic, Greenfield has played a key role in the supply of the alcohol needed for hand sanitizers used to combat the virus.

Through the Greenfield Cares Fund, donations will support local organizations that provide essential services, including; hunger relief, shelter assistance, and support for hospitals and frontline workers.

Mary Lou Crowley, President & CEO of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, said she has been “overwhelmed with how incredibly supportive the local business community has been throughout the past several weeks” as the Foundation continues to raise funds towards CKHA’s COVID-19 efforts.

“Our local businesses have shown they are true leaders in this community, stepping up to help our hospital in so many ways,” she added.

With this most recent donation, the total amount of CKHA Foundation’s COVID-

19 Healthcare Relief Fund now stands at $300,000.

Funds raised through the campaign will be used to purchase needed equipment at CKHA to help battle COVID-19.

“We could not be more proud to be a part of this community,” said Gaye Thompson, Board Chair, CKHA Foundation. “We are sincerely grateful for the support of Greenfield Global and all members of our business community who have generously supported our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund.”
