Chatham-Kent officials say the Lord Selkirk Bridge in Wallaceburg will be closed for the day on May 21.

Continued testing is cited as the reason behind the closure.

As previously reported, Jason Cikatricis, an engineering technologist with the municipality, said the work being done next week is essentially “opening and closing the bridge a number of times to ensure all the mechanical and electrical components are functioning properly. When the bridge is operated, there is a specific sequence of internal and external operations that must function correctly in order for the bridge to successfully open and close.”
