Road rage at a drive-thru?

Early yesterday morning, around 2:30 a.m. a man threw a rock at the drive through window of a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Employees noticed the damage in the morning when they opened.

Police identified the man responsible using video surveillance.

Nathan Chauvin, 28, of no fixed address, was located shortly after 7:30 a.m. and arrested.  He is charged with mischief under $5,000.
Damage to the window was estimated at $500.

Domestic charges

Yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats.

Assault with a weapon

Yesterday, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the man grabbed a kitchen knife and held it in a threatening manner towards his common-law.

The woman fled the home and called police.

The man left the residence on his bicycle prior to police arrival.

Police located the man and he was arrested.

A 37-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault with a weapon.

Shoplifting

Last night, shortly after 6 p.m., a man attended Circle K on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg and stole several items, valued at approximately $95.

Officers located the man outside the store, and following a short foot chase, he was taken into custody.

A 42-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was also arrested on several outstanding warrants.

Mischief charge

Last week, police responded to a mischief complaint in the parking lot of an apartment building in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man smashed the window of a family member’s vehicle.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.

A 20-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with mischief under $5000 and uttering threats.

Excessive speed

On Saturday night, shortly after 7:30 p.m., an officer with the Traffic Unit observed a vehicle on Middle Line travelling at a high rate of speed.

The officer recorded the man driving 135 km/h in a posted 80-km/h zone.

A 25-year-old Chatham man is charged with stunt driving.  His driver’s license has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
