Drug charges

Last night, police located a man on Sandys Street in Chatham who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The man was arrested on the outstanding warrant and upon being searched incident to arrest, was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl along with a large amount of Canadian cash.

The man was also in the company of a woman, with whom he is on conditions not to contact or communicate with.

A 47-year-old Chatham man is charged with possession for the purposes of drug trafficking and failing to comply with his release conditions.

A 39-year-old Chatham woman was also arrested on outstanding warrants for failing to comply with her release conditions. She was additionally charged with being a party to an offence by facilitating a breach.

Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Trailer stolen

Sometime between Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Friday at 11:30 a.m. someone stole a black 18-foot tandem-axle trailer from a business on Cathcart Street in Blenheim.

The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate Y17661.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $3,000.
