Online comments against the Chatham-Kent Police Service have led to charges against a local man.

Police say officers learned of the comments, which they describe as online threats, yesterday afternoon.

Officers located the man in his home, where he initially refused to surrender himself to them, police say. After a couple of hours of negotiations, he relented.

A 43-year-old Chatham man is charged with uttering threats and mischief.

A London man faces charges after someone falsely identified himself last night after a traffic stop.

Police say an officer pulled a vehicle over on Lacroix Street in Chatham, and the driver gave a false name.

The officer investigated further and learned the man’s true identity, as well as the fact he was prohibited from driving and wanted by the OPP.

A 42-year-old London man is charged with obstruct police and driving while prohibited.

Yesterday morning, the traffic unit was out on Indian Creek Road and McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham.

Police report 10 motorists earned speeding tickets.

Sometime over the weekend, someone forced their way into a construction trailer parked at the arena on Wall Street in Wallaceburg.

Police say about $1,000 in various items were taken.

An avid angler on Park Street in Dresden is out some equipment after someone got into his or her shed on the weekend.

Missing is a Lowrance Fish Finder, seven Okuma rods, two seats and a large tackle box. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $5,000.
