Chatham-Kent police got the call Thursday afternoon of a guy outside a Wallaceburg apartment building busting a cap into a tree.
Police say officers were called to the Wallace Street building after someone saw a man shooting a handgun towards a tree in a wooded area near the building.
The officers contained the area for public safety and then located two men inside an apartment, along with a disassembled Ruger 9mm handgun, an extended magazine and ammunition.
A Wallaceburg man, 38, and a Walpole Island man, 35, are charged with weapons dangerous and being in possession of a restricted firearm. The Walpole man also faces charges of failing to comply with his release conditions by being in possession of a weapon.
