It appears it has been an angry time around Chatham-Kent, as numerous people wound up facing charges for domestic violence or uttering threats recently.

Last Thursday, Chatham-Kent police say a man went to a home in Shrewsbury armed with a baseball bat and started yelling at a woman with whom he was acquainted.

He also reportedly laid a beat down on two doors, causing about $3,500 in damage, police say.

On Monday morning, a 34-year-old Shrewsbury man went to the cop shop and turned himself in. He is charged with uttering threats and mischief.

On Friday, police responded to a domestic dispute at a Chatham residence.

The suspect fled prior to police arriving on the scene.

Police say it wasn’t the first incident of domestic abuse between the couple.

Yesterday, a 62-year-old Chatham man walked into police headquarters and turned himself in. He’s charged with three counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and theft.

Another family dispute took place Monday afternoon in Chatham. Police say officers learned a woman got into a family member’s home without permission and assaulted the homeowner during an argument.

A 36-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault and unlawfully being in a dwelling.

Yet another disturbance took place yesterday afternoon in Chatham. Police say a man threatened a family member while at her home.

A 27-year-old Chatham man is charged with uttering threats.
