B&E season continues in Chatham-Kent.

Police report two break-ins took place in Chatham recently, and another failed, resulting in officers nabbing a suspect, plus there was another theft in Tilbury.

About 4:30 a.m. today, someone cut their way into a Tiki hut bar that serves the users of the beach volleyball courts at the Portuguese-Canadian Club on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Once inside, the suspects stole alcohol, Gatorade, sunglasses, Freezies and even some barbecue sauce.

An alarm went off shortly before 2 a.m. this morning at a Richmond Street business. It must have scared off the thief, police say, as entry was not gained into the building.

Police add a male was seen pedalling away from the scene on a bike.

Officers identified the guy on the bike and police say there are a number of outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Police pooch Arry was called to the area. Police say he tracked the suspect and caught him a short distance away.

A 35-year-old Chatham man spent the rest of the night in jail waiting for a bail hearing.

Sometime on Aug. 5, someone forced their way into a home on Early Street in Chatham, stealing cash and a cell phone.

Sometime overnight on Tuesday, someone got into a locked shed on Louise Street in Tilbury, stealing copper cables and damaging a generator, police say. Total damage is estimated at $2,000.
