Two Chatham folks are facing charges after someone stole a lot of recyclables from the Pet and Wildlife Rescue building recently.
Police say on Saturday, two people were seen stealing a blue recycling bin from the Car and Dog Wash on Park Avenue East in Chatham. They walked over to the adjacent PAWR facility and entered the locked compound.
Once inside, police say they filled the bin with empty cans and bottles donated to help fund the shelter. Estimated value of the theft is at $600.
Police investigated and identified their suspects.
On Monday afternoon, they made the arrests.
A 34-year-old man and a 30 year-old woman, both of Chatham, are charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
