Two crashes yesterday in Chatham-Kent saw two people sent to hospital and charges laid.

Police say on Monday morning about 10 a.m., emergency crews got called out to Merlin Road and Riverview Line where a 51-year-old Amherstburg man had lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a stop sign at the intersection.

He was taken to hospital in Chatham with non-life-threatening injuries and later transferred to a Windsor hospital.

Damage is estimated at $3,000 and the crash remains under investigation.

About an hour later, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Creek Road between Maynard Line and English Line.

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries, police say and was taken to hospital, and faces a careless driving charge.

The car hit a farm sprayer. The driver of that vehicle is charged with making a turn not in safety.
