The Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director in Jill Misselbrook.
People and businesses who work with the chamber will already know Misselbrook as she has been with the agency in a different role until the board voted promote her to this new position.
“Jill was the natural candidate to take on the role and title as she was already doing all of the duties of an executive director,” said Karen Debergh, board chair of the Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce, in a media release. “She had taken on a commanding leadership role with us and it was time that we recognized her hard work and dedication by giving her the credit, and title, that she has earned.”
“It is such an honour to have been selected to receive this promotion and I must thank everyone on the board, my colleagues, and our volunteers,” said Misselbrook. “It is a great honour to be involved in the community through the Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce. I am working hard every day to help all of the Chamber members and businesses.”
Misselbrook has more than 25 years of newspaper, radio advertising, and marketing experience in the Chatham-Kent area. In addition, she and her husband have been operating a small business called CJ Window Tinting in Dresden for the past 14 years.
Misselbrook also has an extensive history volunteering for several non-profit organizations such as Dresden Minor Hockey Moms, the Canadian Cancer Society, Relay for Life, and the Dresden Community Food Bank.
“I have been working with Jill for several months now and she has been an absolute delight to collaborate with,” said Spencer Pray, economic development officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development. “I look forward to continuing to build a strong partnership.”
