Man stabbed in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police say a 44-year-old Chatham man received treatment for multiple stab wounds after an altercation in Chatham Monday afternoon.

Police say two men, who knew each other, began arguing outside an apartment complex on Raleigh Street. It turned physical and one man stabbed the other multiple times with a knife.

The victim had to be taken to hospital for treatment, but was later released.

Officers located a 22-year-old man of no fixed address a short distance away from the where the stabbing occurred, and made the arrest.

He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a probation order.
