The attempted theft of two diamond rings last night in Chatham led to charges against a local woman.
Police say shortly after 6 p.m., they received a shoplifting complaint from Charm Jewelry on King Street in Chatham.
Officers arrested a woman, searched her, and found the two rings, valued at $1,800 each.
The woman, police say, was also arrested on outstanding warrants in connection with two shoplifting complaints at Sport Chek and the LCBO.
A 30-year-old Chatham woman is charged with three counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property.
