Ford trying to cut spending

Sir: It was difficult for me to take Jillian Curry’s comments seriously (“MPP’s comments concerning,” letter to the editor in the April 18 Chatham Voice), when she slammed comments made by MPP Rick Nicholls who criticized teachers and students for public demonstrations about the government’s intentions to cut money for schools.

I think it was unseemly to do this when Premier Doug Ford is, rightly or wrongly, trying to reduce the province’s debt level. There is nothing wrong with quiet dialogue instead of an undignified public display.

I am reminded from a quote by Dale Carnegie who once said, “Any fool can criticize, complain, and condemn – and most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.”
