Thieves made off two rifles and a shotgun recently after a break-in in Dresden.
Chatham-Kent police say sometime between 2:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., someone broke into The Crappie Store on Metcalfe Street in Dresden by damaging the storefront window, causing about $1,000 in damage.
Once inside, they stole a .22 cal Savage 22 Mark II bolt action rifle – model 26800; a 12-gauge Remington Express Supermag pump action shotgun – model 870; a 30-ought-6 Savage Axis XP bolt action rifle with Weaver scope – model S1924; and 100 rounds of Winchester .22 cal ammunition.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $1,700.
