Chatham-Kent police report a man attended a Grand Avenue West office in Chatham Tuesday morning and called the office’s IT department asking for passwords.
When he was refused, police say the man stole a hard drive and left.
Police were called, and an officer on general patrol observed the man riding his bike a short distance away, carrying the hard drive.
A 27-year-old Chatham man is charged with theft.
