Chatham-Kent Health Alliance officials said the cafeteria at the Chatham site won’t be going anywhere.

This after administration had considered closing it, Lori Marshall, president and CEO of the CKHA, said.

“There was a plan to close it, but a cafeteria is a service to patients, families and staff at the hospital,” she said, as well as visiting students from nearby Ursuline College Chatham. “We thought, ‘If it’s possible to break even, let’s keep it running.’ We’re delighted it actually creates a surplus. It will continue to operate.”

Marshall said it will offer more healthy food and drink options in the future as well.
