I’m all about innovation, employment, and Return on investments.
And proper development of our youth.
I have three grandchildren in Chatham-Kent, I care about their future.
I have a past of negotiating contracts, of insurance. And I have been an anti-drug educator here in the past 1988,89,90,91& part of 92. And to this day I have young adults thanking me for my teachings.
If this position of being Mayor was about me, I would want the wage of $100,000+, but I want $39,000 to start.
- Do you support increasing funding for infrastructure given the fact several culverts and bridges – including the Third Street Bridge – have had emergency issues and closures recently?
I’m a 100% R.O.I. type of person. This style of municipal government just throws money to the wind. And economics is a pie, the more you throw out for structures of any kind Chatham Kent just continues to raise taxes.
- Would you support a tax freeze or rollback if it meant reduced staff and/or services?
I don’t support any kind of tax freeze or rollback. Instead I have a new design that will work to abolish the taxes base of disability and old age, by making it a banking sustainment.
- Would you support shifting some services to the private sector if those services could be done more efficiently that way?
Anything for efficiency!
- Do you believe we need a municipal ombudsman or ethics commissioner?
Ethics commissioner & a paid think tank of 4, after the position of Mayor and counselors has been dissolved, within 4-6yr of me being Mayor.
- Do you support investigating a reduction in the number of council members?
Dissolving completely.
- Should the municipality try to land an Ontario Cannabis Store as soon as possible?
The municipal government of Chatham Kent should not have a store of smokable Cannabis. Chatham Kent should venture into eatables. Which are only for body pain relief.
- Should council be more proactive in terms of working with landowners with contaminated wells?
Somewhat yes. The contaminated wells in Chatham Kent are due to an irresponsible government as it is. Because the city of Chatham owns 1\2of a windmill on someone’s farm.
- Some critics say the municipal building department is an impediment to development in C-K. Do you agree?
Not really sure.
- Do you believe Chatham needs a new twin-pad arena?
No, all arenas in Chatham Kent lose money now, except Thames Campus. I do have a much better idea. But only when the time is right. Chatham Kent has no R.O.I. yet, so this copycat arena will be just more taxes.
- Should the municipality cut back on its expenditures for overseas economic development efforts?
100% yes. This is borderline corruption at its finest. An office in another country means they need our monies from here to operate its daily debit with inflated hydro bills etc.
- Should municipal councillors ever be forced to go the Freedom of Information route when seeking municipal information?
Not too sure, because this just means as a counselor, I would pay $5. For the info.
- Should members of the public have more access to municipal information without having to resort to an FOI?
The public does get the info though by going to city meetings as they are open, and if you have Cogeco cable TV, our city meetings are on TV. In my opinion the public should form more private gatherings, and get more politicly involved, and bring more issues to the table with the political involvement only when required.
