Two Chatham residents were arrested last night on drug charges after police raided a West St. home.

The Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with help from the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant on the home. Fentanyl residue, a small amount of hydromorphone, packaging material and a digital scale were all seized.  Officers also recovered a stolen mountain bike inside the residence.

A 28-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, both from Chatham, were arrested and charged with two counts of drug possession and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.  The woman was released with a court date of May 12.  The man was additionally charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions and police learned that the man was also wanted on a surety relief warrant.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
