A bump and run on Hwy. 401 Saturday resulted in charges according to the Chatham-Kent OPP.

OPP were called to a fail to remain collision on the highway near Queens Line.

The driver of a Nissan Pathfinder, traveling eastbound, said he saw a tractor trailer gaining on him. He attempted to move out of the way when the tractor trailer collided with the rear bumper of vehicle, causing it to spin and come to rest in the ditch.

The driver of the tractor trailer stopped briefly but then continued driving eastbound. The tractor trailer was located a short time later. Neither driver reported injuries

As a result, 21 year-old Brampton man was charged with careless driving and fail to remain.

The accused will appear in the Chatham Provincial Offences Court on May 11.
