Women assaulted in separate incidents

On March 18, 2016 a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence in Chatham and a verbal argument ensued.  The man threatened the woman and raised his arm in a striking motion as if he was going to hit her with his fist.  A female witness observed the altercation and stepped in to help.  The man threatened the witness and left the area.

On March 21, Chatham-Kent police became aware of the incident and attempts were made to locate the man.  Yesterday morning, the 32-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and charged with assault and two counts of uttering threats.  He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

 

On March 21, 2016 a man and his girlfriend began arguing at a residence in Blenheim.  The incident escalated into a physical altercation as the man assaulted the woman.  As the day went on, the man, still enraged, continued to assault the woman.  The man fled the residence prior to police arrival.

Yesterday afternoon, the 22-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
