In the early morning of January 1,, Chatham-Kent Police were conducting a RIDE program on Lacroix St, Chatham.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. a man pulled up in a pickup truck and was arrested for Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, and provided two samples to a Qualified Breath Technician.

Both samples were well over double the legal limit.

A 32 year old Chatham-Kent man was charged with Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle and Over 80. The vehicle was towed for automatic impoundment and the accused was later released with a future court date.
