The last day of 2015 brought a pair of family disputes and an assault charge.

In the afternoon of December 31 Chatham-Kent Police responded to a residence on Canterbury St, Chatham, in regards to a family dispute. The family became concerned for their safety when a man became increasingly agitated and argumentative.

The individual had been placed on probation in March after being convicted of assault against family members.

He was placed on conditions not to contact or communicate with several individuals.

A 38 year old Chatham man was arrested and charged with 3 counts of breaching his probation, and held for bail.

In the second incident, police were called to a Lacroix St. residence when two men got into a heated argument.

A wife of one of the men attempted to halt the argument but was assaulted and the men began a physical altercation.

All parties had been drinking and suffered only minor injuries.

A 43 year old Chatham man was charged with assault, and later released with a future court date, once he had sobered up.
