Fire deemed suspicious

fire7On October 6, 2015 around 11:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a residential fire on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

The residence is divided into four different apartments. No one was home in the unit where the fire started, however other tenants in the building were home. Luckily, no one was injured.

Property damage has been estimated at $30,000.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall was contacted and attended the scene. They have since deemed the fire suspicious and are continuing to investigate the cause and origin.
