If you are bound by release conditions where police must know your home address, you really should let them know where that is … unless you want more charges and another night in jail.
Chatham-Kent police say a man was released from custody Feb. 8, with conditions that he reside on Timmins Crescent in Chatham, and he was to notify police within 24 hours of any change of address.
Officers learned on June 4 the man left Timmins Crescent back in April. He obviously neglected to notify the police service. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Monday afternoon, the man strolled into police headquarters to advise them of an address change … two months after moving.
He was arrested.
A 41-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to comply.
