Chatham-Kent police are investigating several thefts in the outlying areas, one of which involved firearms.
Police say someone broke into a Wheatley residence sometime over the past month and stole 12 long guns.
Value of the missing firearms is estimated at $4,000

As well, police are looking for a canoe thief. They say someone made off with a canoe from a fenced area on Metcalfe Avenue West in Dresden on the weekend.
Police say the culprits snagged the canoe sometime late Saturday or early Sunday. The craft is valued at about $1,500.

Police are also looking for someone who made off with a mitre saw in Shrewsbury.
According to police, someone forced their way into a shed on Brock Street in that South Kent community over the weekend and took a 12-inch Mastercraft mitre saw valued at $350.
