The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following the recovery of stolen property.
Last night, police received permission from a woman to search her vehicle. A men’s Norco mountain bike and several power tools were located in the vehicle. Through investigation, police learned that the bike had been reported stolen in April and the tools were reported stolen in May. Police further learned that the woman’s son had been using her vehicle.
Just before 2:00 a.m. this morning, police located the man on Park Avenue East in Chatham. He was taken into custody for breaching his curfew and trespassing on this specific property.
The 29-year-old Dover Township man has been charged with failing to comply, trespassing and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
