Traffic stop leads to charges

ck police cruiser 3Yesterday morning, an officer observed the woman driving eastbound on Grande River Line at a high rate of speed. The officer recorded the vehicle travelling 82km/hr in a posted 60km/hr zone. The officer initiated a traffic stop and through investigation learned that the woman’s driving privileges were suspended due to unpaid fines. She was also driving with expired licence plates and no insurance.

The 28-year-old Chatham woman was charged with speeding, driving while under suspension, driving with no validation on plate, failing to surrender a permit for the motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Her vehicle was towed from the roadway.
