Apparently, one man in Chatham stepped back in time Friday night, to Cro-Magnon times, as police say one man whacked his neighbour with a tree branch.

According to Chatham-Kent police, they received a call about 10:30 p.m. for a disturbance where they say one man – we’ll call him “Grog” – smacked his neighbour with the branch of a tree.

The victim didn’t need medical attention, and “Grog” left the scene before police arrived.

But police found their suspect Sunday morning.

A 33-year old Chatham man is charged with assault with a weapon.
