The Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce has named Barry Fraser citizen of the year.
Fraser, an icon in the agricultural community, was named the Chamber’s agriculturalist of the year in 1998 and is a member of the Kent County Agricultural Hall of Fame.
He has also been active in Rotary and is a past chair of the United Way. He has been named a Rotary District Governor in 2017-18 for the local district.
Fraser headlines the 127th annual business excellence awards night on March 26 at Club Lentina in Chatham.
Victory Ford Lincoln Sales Ltd. has been named corporate citizen of the year, and Devolder’s Farm Inc., in Dover Centre, is the industry of the year winner.
Emily Meko, owner of Eat What’s Good restaurant in Chatham, has been named business professional of the year and entrepreneur of the year.
Southwest Granite & Glass is the business of excellence award recipient, while and Jessica Weaver is the youth entrepreneur of the year.
