Police responded to a report of a suspicious person about 1 a.m. in the Richmond Street and Merritt Avenue area in Chatham. The caller said the man was lurking around businesses in the areas.
Officers found the man at the rear of Chatham Chrysler and he was scooped up for trespassing. A subsequent search yielded methamphetamine and marijuana.
A 51-year-old Chatham man is charged in connection with the incident with two counts of drug possession.
