A Dresden man received a strong reminder to abide by his peace bond for he ex-common-law wife.

Police say the man entered into the bond on July 2 to not communicate or associate with the woman. But on Sept. 17, he went to her residence, police say, and continued to call and text her after he left.

She called the cops, but officers were unable to find the man, until yesterday morning.

A 48-year-old Dresden man is charged with breaching his peace bond in connection with the incident.

  1. People think peace bonds are loose guidelines because of the way the system works.. You get a breach charge and most likely get put on probation with terms like keep the peace and be of good behaviour, maybe a curfew, in other words a slap on the wrist. The worst thing to happen to this guy is probably what happened when the police found him.. And they say our system is designed to prevent recidivism..
