Back in July, police say a man took three video games from the electronics department in Wal-Mart in Chatham and jammed them down his pants. From there, he walked into the garden centre and chucked them over the fence into a waiting shopping cart, police say, before leaving the store and went to scoop up the games, while store staff contacted police.

Officers charged a 23-year-old Chatham man with theft and possession of property obtained by crime.

On Aug. 6, the man failed to go to police headquarters to be fingerprinted, police say, and two days later didn’t show up for court. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Nearly a month later, on Sept. 4 just after midnight, police officers in Windsor found the man and arrested him. He remained in custody as of this morning, awaiting a bail hearing.
