Chatham-Kent police nabbed two shoplifters and are looking for a third after a couple of incidents in Chatham Tuesday.

About 1:30 p.m., officers responded to Sobeys over a theft complaint. Police say a man entered the store and put about $300 in razors and blades in a shopping bag, and then tried to leave the store without paying.

An employee chased after the man, causing him to drop his loot. Officers received a description of the man and set out to track him down.

Shortly before 4 p.m., police say they found him on Edgar Street.

A 35-year-old man of no fixed address faces charges of theft and possession of property obtained by crime in connection with this incident.

Meanwhile, at the other end of Chatham, officers were out at Wal-Mart about 1 p.m. in response to another shoplifting call. Police say an employee saw two men walk into the store and stroll into the cologne aisle, helping themselves to about $250 worth of cologne and hiding it in their clothing.

The two left the store without trying to pay for the goods, police say, and were approached by an employee. One man co-operated and turned over the cologne. The other fled on foot.

A 29-year-old Chatham man faces charges of theft and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police are still looking for a 57-year-old Chatham man.
