A 55-year-old man faces break-in charges after police say a would-be thief was caught in a home he broke into Monday.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a call from a homeowner yesterday morning about a break-in at a vacant residence on Grand Avenue West. The homeowner reportedly noticed that a basement window had been smashed, and he called police.
Officers searched the home and found a man inside, whose backpack they say contained a crowbar, wrench, pliers and assorted screwdrivers.
A 55-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with break and enter and possession of break-in tools.
