Chatham’s Marien Hopman is off to Michigan next week as part of the Most Magicians Challenge.
The challenge is actually to set a Guinness World Record for most magicians to appear in one magic show.
Hopman is part of a group of musicians who will perform in Colon, Mich., Aug. 6 in a quest to top the 106 magicians who set the record in March of 2012 in Germany.
The local man, who has been performing magic tricks for 55 years, is slated to perform about 1:15 p.m., and needs to do just one trick in under 90 seconds to be part of the record-breaking effort.
