Just because you aren’t served at the liquor store, you shouldn’t help yourself.

Chatham-Kent police say a man walked into the LCBO on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg about 6 p.m. Monday. Staff refused to serve him, as they believed he was drunk.

That apparently didn’t stop the guy from trying the self-serve method, as he allegedly grabbed a bottle of rum and a six-pack of beer and left.

Police tracked the man down after a short foot pursuit.

A 35-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
