A man spent the night in jail after someone took a swing at a police officer in Wallaceburg last night.
Chatham-Kent police say they received a call just after 8 p.m. Wednesday night reporting an emotionally distraught man was on Dufferin Avenue, and there was concern for his safety.
Officers found the man and tried to calm him down. Police say the man became agitated, clenched his fists and took a swing at one of the officers.
A 24-year-old man of no fixed address faces charges of assaulting a peace officer.
