Carmen McGregor is the latest person to file her nomination papers in Chatham-Kent, and is seeking to take over a chair long held by her husband, Tom: as a councillor representing Wallaceburg.

Perhaps the two are wearing flip-flops, as Carmen is currently a trustee on the Lambton-Kent District School board, a position Tom will seek in the fall municipal election.

Tom was a longtime Wallaceburg councillor, until running unsuccessfully for mayor in 2010.

Carmen joins incumbent Jeff Wesley as the only two people to file their nominations papers so far to run in Ward 5, Wallaceburg in the October election. Sheldon Parsons, the other Wallaceburg incumbent, has not yet announced his intentions.
