Chatham-Kent police now have arrested a fourth man in connection with the robbery of the Esso Gas Bar on Bloomfield Road in mid-February.

As reported earlier, Chatham-Kent police say two men wearing bandanas walked into the gas bar about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 16, demanding money. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and hopped into a waiting vehicle.

Police investigated and arrested the cashier, who they say was in on the robbery. He is a 21-year-old Chatham man.

Waterloo Regional Police arrested two other men a day later. Both are 22 and from Raleigh Township.

The fourth man is a Cambridge resident, aged 21. He’s charged with robbery and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Police are still investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Ken Lauzon of the Major Crime Unit at 519-436-6623 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

  1. Robbing from a gas station… the costs vs the possible pittance of a monetary gain are so vast in scope you wonder how they could come up with such a hair brained scheme.
