Two seven-year-old Wallaceburg kids, a boy and a girl, are listed in stable condition in hospital in London after a crash late Thursday afternoon on Baseline Road near Dresden.

Police say three vehicles were involved in the collision, which occurred about 4:30 p.m. The occupants of a Chevy Malibu were all taken to hospital for treatment. The driver, a 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman, went to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, and was treated and released.

Meanwhile, the boy was also taken to the CKHA and later transferred to London for further treatment. The girl was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries and taken directly to a London hospital.

No word on the children’s conditions this morning.

The driver of a GMC Sierra pickup truck, a 29-year-old Dresden man, and the driver of a transport truck, a 44-year-old Toronto man, were treated at the scene.

Total damage is estimated at $40,000.

Baseline Road was closed between Kings Ferry Road and Van Allen Road for several hours Thursday night as police investigated. That investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact const. Jason St. Denis at 519-436-6600, ext. 87104.
