Sir: This is an appeal to animal lovers to take action. It’s a municipal election year and the time to press for changes we want to see.
Please write to Chatham-Kent council at council@chatham-kent.ca and ask to have the bylaws changed that allow a dog to be tied outside 24 hours a day and ask them to change the bylaws that allow animals to be left outside in extreme temperatures.
We need to let them know that people care about this.
The lack of clarity in the law is resulting in dogs suffering and dying.
