The Chatham Y Pool Sharks are offering a two-week free trial for families interested in seeing if swimming is of interest to their children.
The only requirement is that a child can swim one length of the pool. The Sharks will teach him or her the rest.
Pool Sharks coach Kyle Pinsonneault said in a release the team’s philosophy is to “promote, foster, teach and perpetuate the art and sport of competitive swimming, and to encourage training for the competition, self-development, leadership and sportsmanship in the field of amateur competitive swimming. We also promote swimming as a means of healthful exercise and as a means of improving the physical fitness of children.”
Tryouts for kids aged six to eight will take place from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 25, and from 7:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sept. 28.
