Local artists are teaming up to give kids in Chatham-Kent the chance to take part in recreational activities.

Culture Factory is hosting the fundraising event on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at Smith and Wilson Estate Wines in Blenheim to benefit the A.L.L. for Kids program run by the municipality.

A.L.L. for Kids is a program to support parents of kids 0-15 years who would like to enrol their children in recreational activities such as soccer, figure skating or music lessons, but may not have the funds to do so. The program will fund all or part of the cost of the camps or lessons dependent on eligibility.

The event will feature Spoken Word artist Greg Frankson and singer/songwriter Ambre McLean. Local visual artist Mark Reinhart will be busy creating an art-piece during the evening that will be auctioned off at the end of the night.

William St. Café will provide the canapés and Smith and Wilson will donate $1 from each glass of wine sold that evening.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by contacting Shaelah Pirie at spirie@culturefactory.ca.
