How hot is it? Hot enough to try to steal someone else’s air conditioner, apparently.
On Sunday afternoon on Sparks Drive in Chatham, a man pulled an air conditioner out of a residence and pedaled off, police say, having placed the unit in a trailer behind his bicycle.
He didn’t get fair. Police say officers spotted a man matching the suspect’s description. He also had the stolen air conditioner with him.
A 29-year-old Chatham man is charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
