
A Monday morning bomb threat in Wallaceburg has led to a local man being arrested.
Police say the call came in about 9:20 a.m. for a report of a bomb on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Officers quickly reached the scene, secured the area and looked for the supposed bomb.
“CKPS (Chatham-Kent Police Service) can confirm that no device was located during the investigation into the report of the bomb threat,” police officials said. “The incident occurred inside a municipal building, and out of the abundance of caution, the premises were secured and thoroughly searched by officers.”
As a result of the investigation, A 50-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested.
Police say there is no threat to public safety at this time.
