Someone got into the cottages and stole an unknown number of items, as the owner has yet to catalogue what was taken.

If anyone has any information regarding this crime, they are asked to contact Const. Dean VanHerpe at deanv@chatham-kent.ca . Anonymous callers may call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Biker eludes C-K cops

An attempt to pull over a motorcyclist on the weekend did not end as hoped for Chatham-Kent police.

An officer patrolling on Keil Drive in Chatham about 5:10 p.m. Saturday noticed a motorcycle that didn’t have proper plates.

The officer put on his lights and tried to pull the motorcyclist over, but the rider saw the cruiser and hit the gas.

Police did not attempt to pursue the motorcycle due to public safety concerns.
