Blenheim’s first family community housing build should be ready for occupancy in February 2025.

Located at 36 McGeorge St., the development underscores the municipality’s commitment to making affordable housing available in Chatham-Kent.

According to a municipal media release, the three-storey smoke-free building offers 17 units, including nine three-bedroom units, six accessible three-bedroom units, and two four-bedroom units. Individual units also include patios or balconies, parking and pay-per-use laundry facilities.

Now in its last stage of construction, the building is located near Blenheim’s downtown in close proximity to schools, daycare centres, parks, splash pad and the arena.

Eligible households include those with two or more children and an annual income of $52,500 or less for a three-bedroom unit, or $61,000 or less for a four-bedroom unit.
